is the song like the album version or different?
Any live version of Saucerful of Secrets is different from the album version. Much more forceful, driving, rocked out and psychedelic. Instead of the choir at the end of the album version David Gilmour takes over the only "singing" in the song. The Pompeii version is similar to the live cut found on Ummagumma, but even then there are small discrepancies such as the drumming during the last part. I actually prefer the live versions versus the studio mix. Great question!!
Directed by Adrian Maben Produced by Steve O'Rourke, Michele Arnaud, Reiner Moritz Starring Pink Floyd Music by Pink Floyd Cinematography ...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I cannot find the edition that is not the director's cut, which sucks!!
I'd try either Ebay or Amazon. I know you can find the original version in VHS, but I'm not sure if it was ever released DVD. If it is the original version your interested in, that can be found in the special features of the directors cut DVD also.
If you live in the States, you can get it at Wal-Mart (that's where I got mine). It has the director's cut (extra interviews with the band and two extra songs from Dark Side Of The Moon) and the original version. It's a great DVD...
I want to know because I really like the Live in Pompeii versions of Echoes, Careful With that Axe, Eugene, and Saucerful of Secrets.
Officially, the answer is no.
Did anyone else notice that the band keeps eating througout the interviews in the film?
Or did you see the film at all? Amazing version of Saucerful of Secrets.
Nick Mason wanted fruit pie without crusts :0)
They are probably eating so much in the canteen because while they were recording DSOTM, they had very little spare time, probably just enough time to eat, sleep and use the loo. And while humouring interviews as well, meal time would be the only time they could be conducted.
By the way, Roger Waters looks like the missing link when he finaly makes an appearence in the beginning during echoes.
Oh and I believe that is the canteen at Abby Road Studios and not a cafe nor in Italy.
